Beaches of Lemnos

Lemnos, which is the eighth in size island of Greece, with a coastline length of 259km, disposes of over 100 sandy beaches or with thin pebbles.

Platy

It constitutes one of the most beautiful sandy beaches –very close to the city- that gathers most of the people. The area is developed touristically more and more. You may enjoy with your family the beach with its sunbeds, umbrellas , beach  bars and sea sports.

Lemnos Village

One of the most famous beaches of the island is the one that lies in front of the hotel “Lemnos Village”. Very clear sandy beach, where all set is offered to searching good-liver tourists, and of course, an all type organization with sunbeds, umbrellas  and sea sports.

Ai-Yannis

It constitutes another one favorite and particularly famous beach with exceptionally clear waters. As you go down the edge of the beach you meet “Cave”, a trim coffee-bar which resembles to a real cave, which is waiting for you near the sandy beach, just in the shade of a rock. With its parasols, deckchairs and modern bamboo furniture, it will offer you a sense of exotic luxury. A small garden, planted on the sand and nearby the entrance of the cave, welcomes you, while bright green angelicas, jujubes, palms and cypress species prepare you for an absolute relaxation.

Richa Nera

It is perhaps the most social beach of Myrina.  Its target group includes children and older people and offers relaxation in beach bars or sports along waves. As to the music, you may listen to Greek and foreign chill out. It preserves the prestige of classical seaside resort, adding every year new arrivals at its potential.

Avlonas

It is the first gulf after Richa Nera, with marvelous sandy beach, for more tranquil swim. Neighboring volcanic islets constitute an ideal place for spearfishers. It also offers sports for kids and adults and bars with iced beers and snacks. The VIP hotel “PORTO MYRINA PALACE” is built over Avlonas.

Beach of Thanos

It is distinguished, popular and trendy. The heart of tourist season beats here: innumerable rental rooms, taverns, cafés, straw parasols, wooden tables, deckchairs, music choices in mainstream situations, but also nudism –if that’s what you want- in a special beach.

From this point on and following the central artery, the area has to show off wonderful sandy beaches and magic creeks; Plagisou Mole and the leeward organized beach of Saint Paraskevi. Make a stop for a revitalizing plunge into clear waters of this area, which during summer throbs with life as it constitutes the favorite tourists’ destination. Saint Paraskevi is the chapel that dominates at the opposite hill.

About 2km away, you will meet Thanos, an exquisite hanging village. Promenade along the beautiful square, with the impressive church of Saint Paraskevi, enjoy the high view and discover its magnificent beach with crystal waters.

Nevgatis or Zematas

As you are nearby Kontias, take the route to another known beach, the one of Nevgatis or Zematas. Enjoy its deep blue waters and take a sandbath over its marvelous fine sand, which lies along 2km approximately.

Kotsinas

It constitutes one of the most family beaches of the island, with notes of tropical atmosphere. Plunges and sports in swallow waters of the beach and also, taverns with delicious snacks and fresh fish will make you spend your time fantastically.
At the forgotten wharf, the statue of the local heroine Maroula, which stands imperious, and the church of Life-Giving Spring will offer you another one picture of the beautiful island.

Chavouli, Sagrida, Fanaraki

Three wonderful beaches, one next to the other, with exceptional sands. In Fanaraki, there is a tavern and a beach bar and if you are sports lover, then volleyball net is waiting for you. Nearby Fanaraki, sandhills with thorny burnets and bushes, rocks with lakes formed inside their cavity, compose a geological panorama that you never see enough of it.

Keros

Keros constitutes an extraordinary beach, of about 5km, with sand dunes, between the two lakes of the island and right in the middle of the fertile plain. The village Kalliopi lies close to it, where famous horse racings are held on the feast day of Saint Georgios.
